I recently spent two nights at Serena Hotel in Dar es Salaam. The hotel features a beautiful Arab style, which adds a charming touch to the overall experience. I loved the spacious rooms equipped with modern amenities like a mini-bar and a flat-screen TV. The location is fantastic, just a short walk to my meetings. I enjoyed both breakfast and meals at the restaurant. the quality was superb, and the chefs certainly know how to prepare delicious dishes. However, there were some issues with the bathrooms. They felt a bit dated, especially the toilets and shower curtains, which was disappointing for a five-star hotel. Also, one of the hotel’s restaurants was quite disappointing — the meat I ordered was poorly cooked. Although the staff did change my meal, the replacement wasn’t much better. I recommend sticking to the main restaurant for meals. Overall, I appreciated the friendly and attentive service from the staff — they made my stay quite pleasant.

The gym is well-equipped with a great selection of machines and weights, making it a perfect spot for workouts. The breakfast was fantastic, featuring a wide range of tasty options, and I especially enjoyed the laksa available at the restaurant. However, the decor in the rooms feels a bit dated, which may not appeal to everyone. Additionally, the location, although centrally situated, is about 30-40 minutes from the airport, which could be inconvenient for travelers. Service overall was professional and courteous.

I had an amazing stay at serena hotel, which exceeded my expectations. After my last visit, the hospitality was even more excellent, with attentive staff and delicious meals that made our celebrations special. The lush gardens and outdoor pool provided a perfect retreat.

It was just a proper fit for a weekend excursion in Dar es Salaam with decent value for money. The seafood buffet on Wednesdays is excellent value and absolutely delicious! For a better experience, check out the executive lounge access if available.
